ercIf you are a high calibre researcher with a pioneering idea then you should consider applying for a European Research Council (ERC) grant with the APC as your host. As your host we can offer state-of-the-art facilities, expertise and support for your research programme. In addition, successful awardees may also avail of extra financial support should you consider the APC as your host.

 

 

 

The ERC’s mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven visionary research projects across all fields of research, on the basis of scientific excellence. ERC is a highly competitive funding scheme which funds excellent frontier research under four main programmes. For more information on the specific Call please click on icons below.

 ercstart For a talented early-career scientist of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD, who have already produced excellent supervised work and show potential to be the research leaders. Starting Grant may be awarded up to €1.5 million for a period of 5 years.
 ercconsol For already independent excellent researchers of any nationality with 7-12 years of experience since completion of PhD, who want to consolidate their independence by establishing new or strengthening existing excellent research team. Consolidator Grant may be awarded up to €2 million for a period of 5 years.
 ercadv For established, senior research leaders with significant research achievements in the last 10 years, who want to pursue a ground-breaking, high-risk research projects. Advanced Grants may be awarded up to €2.5 million for a period of 5 years.
 ercpoc The funding scheme for groups of two to four scientists who jointly work on ambitious research problems. Synergy Grant can be up to a maximum of €10 million for a period of 6 years.  An additional € 4 million can be requested to cover:

  • Eligible “start-up” cost for PI moving to EU or Associated Country from elsewhere
  • The purchase of major equipment
  • Access to large facilities
 ercpoc For researchers who already have an ERC award to establish proof of concept of an idea that was generated in the course of their ERC-funded projects. Proof of Concept Grants are up to €150,000 for a period of 18 months.
