Row, row, row your boat……

By Aifric Keogh, APC researcher and international rower

I’ve been rowing for over 10 years and can’t imagine life without it.  I usually have around 15 training sessions per week. It can be tough to juggle lab work and training but with proper planning and time management it’s possible to do both to a high standard. I’m so lucky to be able to train with Rowing Ireland’s High Performance Team at Inniscarra Lake every day and to be within a 20 minute drive from the labs at UCC. At the moment I’m focussing on settling into my new position at the APC and training with the aim of being selected to race at the World Championships this September in Florida.
