Science Raps with APC & Stevie G
19 june 2012
Can you Rap? Got the science bug? If you get rhythm and rhyme, come along to “Science Raps with APC & Stevie G” at the Pavilion next Monday 25th June from 6-8pm and be in with a chance to win a pair of Beats by Dre or some iTunes credit. All are welcome and admission is free.
Science Raps with APC & Stevie G is part of CuriousCity, a series of city-wide events in Cork in association with Dublin City of Science to inspire creativity, spark innovation and seek answers to Life’s Great Questions.
At the Pavilion, you will be inspired by live performances from Genesis and Rory Collins, previous winners of the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre’s Science Raps competitions organised annually as part of Science Week, with themes from “The Chemistry of Life” to “Our Place in Space” to “Creativity & Innovation.”. Winning raps can be viewed on the You Tube Pharmabiotic Channel www.youtube.com/pharmabiotic/
On the evening you can also experience Electric Pulse, an exciting exploration of the world where music and technology collide. Created by CIT Cork School of Music’s Master’s students in Music & Technology in association with Cork Electronics Industry Association, Electric Pulse has something for all ages with a range of installations. Teenagers will love Visual Vibes which will create thought-provoking images at The Pavilion, whereas DJ Hammer and the Aural Compass can be experienced by families at the Science Picnic at Lifetime lab on Saturday 23 June.
The APC is also hosting a similar event “ Droppin’Science” which will take place at the Culture Box in Temple Bar, Dublin on 9th July as part of Dublin City of Science.
