Suzanne Timmons – APC faculty
Dr. Suzanne Timmons is Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation, UCC, since 2010, and is the Programme Coordinator for the MSc in Older Person Rehabilitation. She has a special interest in neurological and neurodegenerative disease in later life, and runs a movement disorder clinic. She is leading HRB-funded research into the prevalence and long-term outcomes of older people with dementia admitted to acute hospitals; early delirium detection tools; and the promotion of physical activity in older people in acute hospitals. She was the co-lead for the Irish National Audit of Dementia; current lead of the Northern Ireland Audit of Dementia; project lead for the Cork Integrated Dementia care Across Settings healthcare improvement project; chair of a national guidelines group for palliative care in Parkinson’s disease; and President Elect of the Irish Delirium Society.
