Spanish Native Scientist Workshop

In partnership with Native Scientist, we are organising a fun science workshop for children aged 6-12 years who speak some Spanish at home.

Native Scientist is an international non-profit enterprise that connects immigrant pupils and scientists to tackle educational disadvantage and promote science and language literacy. The workshops bring together international scientists and pupils to speak about science in a different language. Since its foundation in 2013, Native Scientist has organised 100+ workshops in 9 different languages, reaching over 2000 pupils.

The next Spanish Native Scientist workshop in Cork will be on the 27th September 2019 at the Western Gateway Building in UCC. The event is part of the Cork Discovers Festival.

In this workshop, Spanish-speaking scientists will meet young people in the community for a science workshop in the Spanish language. This workshop is a great opportunity for kids to practice their language skills and develop their interest in science.

The workshop is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years who speak some Spanish at home. Children should be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must stay for the duration of the workshop.

This is a free event, but registration is required. If you would like more information, please email Dr Maria Angeles Nuñez Sanchez (maria.nunez@nativescientist.com) who is the Native Scientist Project Manager for Spanish.
